Fun Plex hits different than your typical water park because it's actually two parks in one. You can literally go from screaming down a water slide to screaming on a roller coaster without leaving the property. The water park side has all the essentials - a decent wave pool that actually makes waves worth riding, a lazy river for when you need to decompress, and a solid lineup of water slides ranging from family-friendly to moderately thrilling.

The kids area is well-designed with smaller slides and interactive water features that keep the little ones busy. What makes Fun Plex special is that combo aspect. When you're waterlogged and pruney, you can towel off and hit the dry rides.

They've got go-karts that are actually fast, mini golf that's surprisingly well-maintained, and an arcade that doesn't feel like an afterthought. The food situation is better than most water parks too - you're not stuck with just nachos and pizza. They have actual meal options that won't leave you feeling gross.

The crowd tends to be families with kids ranging from toddlers to teens, which means it can get chaotic during peak summer days. Get there when they open if you want to snag a good spot and avoid the longest lines. The cabana rentals are worth it if you've got a big group - they're reasonably priced and give you a home base.

Parking is free, which is becoming rare these days. The facility feels well-maintained, not like some of the sketchier combo parks you'll find. Staff seems to actually care about safety, which matters when you're dealing with water and rides.

It's not going to blow your mind if you're used to massive destination water parks, but for Nebraska, Fun Plex delivers solid value and genuine fun for the whole family.
