Parents can relax on the beach while kids build sandcastles or paddle around in the shallows. There's a diving platform that's popular with older kids and teens who want to show off. The concession stand keeps things simple with burgers, hot dogs, and snacks, though you can bring your own food if you want to save money. Picnic tables are scattered around under some decent shade trees, which you'll appreciate on those brutal North Carolina summer days. I'd recommend getting here early, especially on weekends, since parking can fill up and the best spots on the beach get claimed fast.
