About Each Park
Camel Beach Mountain Water Park
Pennsylvania
Camel Beach sits at the base of the Pocono Mountains in Tannersville, giving you mountain views while you cool off in the water. This place gets busy on summer weekends, so I always tell people to arrive right when they open if you want to snag a good spot for your stuff. The wave pool is solid and definitely the main gathering spot. It cycles every 10 minutes or so, and the waves are strong enough to be fun without being scary for younger kids. The water slide selection covers all the bases. You've got your standard body slides for speed demons, tube slides for people who want a bit more control, and gentler options for kids who are still building up their courage. The kiddie area is well-designed with smaller slides and splash features that'll keep the little ones entertained while parents can actually relax nearby. What I really like about Camel Beach is how they've used the natural terrain. Some of the slides are built right into the hillside, so you get longer rides than you'd expect. The lazy river winds around a good portion of the park, and it's actually lazy unlike some parks where it feels like a water highway. Pennsylvania
Aquatopia at Camelback Resort brings massive water park thrills indoors across 125,000 square feet in the Pocono Mountains. This place operates year-round, which means you can hit the slides when there's snow on the ground outside. The centerpiece is FlowRider, their dual surf simulator that's surprisingly fun even if you wipe out constantly. You'll find multiple multi-story water slides including tube slides and body slides that pack real speed. The lazy river winds around a good portion of the park and stays warm enough that you actually want to float in it during winter visits. For families with younger kids, the multi-level play structure has smaller slides, tipping buckets, and interactive water features that keep toddlers busy for hours. The wave pool generates solid waves every few minutes and has plenty of space to spread out. Since this is attached to Camelback Resort, you get that polished hotel experience with clean facilities and attentive staff. The indoor temperature stays comfortable year-round, though it can get humid during peak times. I'd arrive right when they open to claim good spots near the lazy river before the day guests flood in. Resort guests get early access, which is a huge perk if you're staying overnight. The food court has the usual water park fare but portions are decent and prices aren't completely outrageous for a resort. Cabanas book up fast on weekends and holidays, especially during ski season when families want the indoor water fun after hitting the slopes. What sets Aquatopia…
